Every great product starts with a problem waiting to be solved, and our slot doorstop was exactly that, born out of a personal experience shared by some close friends of ours. A few years ago, we were invited to a garden party to celebrate the completion of their fantastic kitchen extension. To compliment the extension, they had a specialist bifold door company design and install some amazing looking bifold doors, to open onto a great looking patio. However, to their annoyance they discovered a problem: the doors, when open, had no mechanism to hold them securely in place. This meant that even in modest winds, their beautiful bifold doors would often move unpredictably, causing inconvenience and potential damage.

Upon further investigation, I was surprised to find that this was a common predicament among many homeowners with bifold doors.

Determined to find a solution for them, I put pen to paper, that combined with a little head scratching I put together the prototype model. After several iterations and extensive testing, we successfully designed the first slot doorstop. To our friends' delight, we gifted them the prototype, and their feedback at the end of the summer was overwhelmingly positive. Encouraged by this success, we refined the design, worked out a way we could make this work on many door types and officially launched the slot doorstop two years ago. Since then, it has become one of our best-selling products, trusted by hundreds of satisfied customers.

This action effectively prevents the door from swinging open or shut, ensuring it stays exactly where you want it.

3. High-Quality Materials: For maximum durability, and lasting performance, we use only the finest sustainable Oak and Sapele in the manufacture of our slot doorstops. The doorstop is designed to live outside in all weathers and because of the materials it's made from will last for decades but like anything, if looked after it will last longer. For a spruce up in the spring, we sell small bottles of our doorstop oil, which will help protect it further.
